Mark Jacobs
Director of Marketing
If you know one thing about Mark, it should be that he loves asking “why.”
Case in point: two years into his career as a financial analyst, he asked himself why he was in that job. The answer led to business school where, in a first semester marketing class, Mark found his calling—an opportunity to combine his love of creative thinking with his desire to make a positive impact.
With his typical blend of energy and optimism, Mark spent the next twenty years working and learning, starting at the internationally renowned agency Wieden+Kennedy before going on to build local brands from Nike to Mercy Corps to Umpqua Bank and the Portland Timbers. He helped create a lot of compelling, effective, award-winning work along the way, but he’s most proud of the trusted relationships he’s built with clients, colleagues, and creative partners.
Joining Vista has given Mark the rare chance to combine his passion for marketing with his financial experience. His goal? To tell Vista’s story to current and future clients in a fresh, engaging way, so that everyone can understand what makes this team so special.
Outside of work, Mark is all about family, so his activities tend toward fostering family time—losing to his kids at ping pong, working out with his wife, and, of course, time with the cats. Because, after all, cats are family too.
