Terrence “TJ” Daniel Jr.
CFP®, Advisor

TJ has always been interested in how money works and, more importantly, how to make it grow. However, his family didn’t have much of it when he was growing in the Bay Area of California, and it was often a source of stress and frustration. As a result, TJ determined early on that he wanted to change the financial narrative for himself and his family.
TJ’s interest in financial management led him to the University of Oregon, where he earned two bachelor’s degrees: one in applied economics, business, and society and the other in journalism with a focus in advertising. Following college, he worked in a series of wealth management and banking positions, eventually finding his way to Vista in 2020.
As a minority in the finance industry, it’s TJ’s goal to be a leader and role model for young Black men and women, people of color, and other marginalized groups who aspire to pursue a career in finance and/or simply want to be more comfortable and confident with their personal finances. He is constantly honing his financial knowledge to share with others and has earned the Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®) designation to help better educate his audience. He also spends time giving back to the community, serving as the treasurer for the UO Black Alumni Network.
In his off hours, you can find TJ on the golf course and range, hanging out with his wife, Hana, walking their dogs Sam and Bella, playing games with friends and family, or doing yard work when the sun is out.
Something you may not know about TJ: He’s a former student-athlete from the University of Oregon and played on the defensive line for the Ducks.
