Cara Miller

Friendly, outgoing, and empathetic, Cara has a gift for putting people at ease. It’s a skill she no doubt honed through her solo travels around the world. After studying Chinese and finance in college, Cara lived in China for two years, then crisscrossed the globe by herself on a seven-month trip spanning 11 countries. Her travels took her to India, Japan, and New Zealand, where she met people from all walks of life. She also surfed the waves in the Philippines and observed the world’s tiniest penguins in Australia.
After beginning her financial career in 2012 in Boston, Cara eventually moved west and joined Vista in 2020. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon Lundquist College of Business and has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PROFESSIONALTM (CFP®) designation. She also holds a BA in Chinese culture.
Cara has served on the board of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Oregon and SW Washington since 2023. She also gives back to the local community through Gigi’s Playhouse, a Portland-area organization providing programming and support for individuals with Down’s Syndrome and their families. She supports the group in various ways, including organizing a team each year for the annual 5K run.
Cara’s enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity seem to know no bounds. She’s a big soccer fan, and she enjoys watching the Manchester United team take the pitch “across the pond.” One of her other favorite things is when she helps her clients see their financial goals are within reach.
Something you may not know about Cara: She enjoys playing the piano and is learning how to play guitar. She’s also multilingual; she can speak Mandarin and is learning Korean.
